Thanks to some great help from folks on Rootschat I now have the answer. After searching Waring, Wareing & Wareham it turned out to be WEARING and it was aunt Ethel who didn't marry until she 36 years old and her husband turned out to be Archilbald Joseph (not Joe).

Sorry that I couldn't reply but it was after midnight in Oz and I had to go to bed. Paul I'm not sure what ringing the Disabled Motor sport number would do for me as the real estate listing says that this the 2nd time that Bullsland Farm has been sold in 60 years. Jacqui thanks for the info about the library. I will check into that. I have now been advised that the Registration District for Chorleywood is Watford so I will search for births for Waring or Wareing in the 1920's or 30's. I may be able to get a birth cert that will confirm the identities for me.

HI Kerry Address below will take you to list of libraries in Hertfordshire http://www*hertsdirect*org/libsleisure/libraries/where/libs/ There is a library in Chorleywood and it mentions holding electoral registers but it may only be the current one. Most of our llarger ibraries have excellent reference sections but I'm not sure which is the main one for Herts. Possibly St Albans. Hope that helps Jacqui

Kerry, on a previous thread I gave you the phone number of Bullsland Farm. Have you rang them? The British Motor Sports Association for the Disabled (BMSAD): Bullsland Farm, Bullsland Lane, Chorleywood, Herts, WD3 5BG Tel: 01923 285554

Sorry if I sound really daft, maybe it's because I'm in Australia but I'm unsure what you mean by reference library and as I have no idea of geography would this be in Chorleywood. As amatter of interest my freeman ancestors were in Amersham, bucks in 1901 and my grandmother married there in 1916.

You need to contact the nearest reference library to the address you have for 1936. They will have the electoral registers, but if you already have the name, then I don't know that you will get any more information than you already have. It will only give you the names of the adults at the address who are registered to vote. (over 21's) You should be able to get the library address from Google. Kath. x

I am trying to find out more information about this name that was used as next of kin on my father's army enlistment papers in Australia in 1936. (My father came to Australia late in 1929.) Mrs E Waring (Aunt) Bullsand Farm (which could be Bullsland Farm) Chorleywood Bucks, England I understand that Chorleywood is now in Hertfordshire. I spoke with my recently discovered cousin in the USA this morning and she had met several of our Freeman relatives on trips to England when she was teenager and feels that it maybe our grandmother's sister Ethel Freeman (born abt 1890 in Chesham, Bucks) and her husbands name was Joe. I have tried searching for a marriage between Ethel Freeman & Joe Waring but have had no luck. On the tips board it was suggested to me that I may find information via old electoral rolls as I have an address. I really don't know where to look now or what to do next and am wondering if anyone can help me.
