Zabby, have you checked under your mothers maiden name? Have you checked the complete indexes not FreeBMD? Formalluy, It means I have big fingers as well, and that they slipped lol.

Zabby another pm on its way to you, you are there. You need to check the complete birth index, put in your first names, surname, and year, when the four quarters come up, click on Q1, this will show you the index page for that quarter, look down it and you will find yourself.

Also If your over 18 which I suspect you are as you have 2 sons lol You can get your adoption file. There are also a few relly good threads on here about adoptions. Very helpful from other members that have gone or going through the same process... Gerri

MrsBucketBouquet Report 4 Mar 2007 22:52

OOps! just thought....NEVER put your details on here of living rellies!....wait untill your asked to have a private message. (I think i got that right?) See the 'search' box?...put 'ADOPTION' in that and it should lead you to all the threads regarding adoption. Gerri

KeithInFujairah Report 4 Mar 2007 22:50

Zabby I have sent you a message, Gerri has a good idea there, if you put 'adoption' in the search box it will bring up several good threads, but if not formally adopted hmmm.

MrsBucketBouquet

MrsBucketBouquet Report 4 Mar 2007 22:46

KeithInFujairah

KeithInFujairah Report 4 Mar 2007 22:44

Zabby Report 4 Mar 2007 22:42

pmsl!! Im really confusing myself here (doesnt take much ~ honest ;)) Basically what it is (and im probably going to get told of for posting this here, but i'll remove it if it needs a different section :) ) Im looking for my birth family, i have her birth details, her doctors details, address where she lived when i was born, my 'fathers' name and birthplace, but im not getting any results from any of the info i have... i really am a complete and utter techno f**kwit! and seem to be going round in circles...still cant find me, and i have my birth cert here... so unlike what my foster dad says (i wasnt born... created in a puff of smoke lol), i know i was registered in the march, but still no matches :( Oh my goodness, my brain hurts! lol

OC So they steal from another site, charge us to look at it,then wont allow us to put another web addy on here? Has the world gone mad or is it just me?... KEEF! dont answer that! lol Gerri.

KeithInFujairah Report 4 Mar 2007 22:30

Zabby, I have never purchased credits on GR before, I have a subscription to Ancestry, so cannot say why you are unable to view the images, although I have seen similar threads to yours where someone has had the same thing happen. Also dont know how you can look up hot matches on the indexes. ~~~~~~~~ to Gerri

Still looking no, it's even worse than that - you pay to be a member and then they charge you to look at records which belong to another site!!!!lol!!! Bit like charging you a fee to direct you to the GRO indexes... OC

KeithInFujairah Report 4 Mar 2007 22:25

Zabby, it is not unheard of, sometimes the quarters do not come up in view, and have to be 'found', is your birth quarter showing in the complete index?

MrsBucketBouquet

MrsBucketBouquet Report 4 Mar 2007 22:24

Zabby remember that your parents had 6 weeks to reg your birth...try looking at the next quarter

Zabby

Zabby Report 4 Mar 2007 22:22

thanks guys!! xx xx Oh well at least it was only a fiver and i now wont make that mistake again! lol Have been having a nosey over at the ancestry site... cant find myself on there?? But my two sons are... how odd is that???

KeithInFujairah

KeithInFujairah Report 4 Mar 2007 22:21

Gerri, I presume Zabby paid for credits on GR searches. Zabby, GR and Ancestry are two different sites, but GR uses the Ancestry indexes and census for look-ups, but you pay GR. As has been said before, if you wish to do BMD look-ups you can do them free on Ancestry, including the complete untranscribed indexes fro births, marriages and deaths. If you need to look at census info, people on here will gladly look for you.
