Dear June & Heather, Thanks very much for your thoughts and for the H Keefe in Kent. I'm having no luck at all on the Genealogist and have tried all variants (tried Reefe too Heather). I have Maria's death cert now. She died of morbus cordis (heart disease) and dropsy (fluid retention) - only 33 too. Poor girl. Maybe she had more kids before she died and it was all too much for her! Henry isn't at the address in King St, Lambeth where she died either. I'll have a go at your suggestion Heather and will try each child individually. Again, many thanks for your time. Regards Tina

Reggie was just giving the 1881 for reference so that we could see the general info to look for. I cant find them either Im afraid. Id quite hoped the surname may be mistranscribed as Reefe (K often looks like an R) but no luck Im afraid. There are some Keefes in the right area - LOL, they have on the census image a 'Florence' Keefe, head, working in the very manly occupation of a lighterman married to an Ann. I expect his name was Lawrence! I can only suggest you try entering just the first name and other details for each of the kids in turn and seeing if you can trawl through and spot them. It may just be that this is a missing page - I have many.

Just thought I'd see if anyone can help me find Henry Keefe again - I'm having great difficulty finding him in the 1871 census. If anyone can help me I'd be most grateful - please note that it is only the 1871 I need though. Many thanks. Hi Folks, I'm trying to find Henry Keefe or O'Keefe in the 1871 census for possibly London but without success. Any help gratefully received! Details are: Henry Keefe or O'Keefe born circa 1834 in either Lambeth or Ireland. He was a carpenter/ box maker / bedstead maker by trade. His first wife was Maria Dingwall but she died sometime in 1870 and he married again in 1871 to Sophia Sanders. I've found Sophia and her children from her first marriage but Henry and his sons with Maria are not with her. Henry had the following sons with Maria : John (1858), James (1859) and Henry (1864) all born Lambeth / Newington area. I presume Henry stayed in London. I have him in every other census except 1871 and he is in a different part of London for each census. Many thanks. Tina
