Possibly, thats what i'm starting to think now. Do you know what the daughters who were baptised called? Were they Harriet and Ellen?

Yes 1853. Three daughters baptised on same day. Doesnt say birth dates, so dont know which order they were born in.

have you got marriage cert for Francis and first wife??

Jim, yep thats him, the mariner, but he was married to Elizabeth Chamberlin in '51, and Phoebe in '61.

Yep, that is then in the 61 Census. Hmmm. That Baptism record's in 1853? Thats confused me, because Francis first wife didn't die until 1855.

Her sisters Harriet Ann and Ann Elizabeth were also baptised on that day.

1861 shows Francis as a mariner with daughters aged 14 and 12. This would seem to fit with 1846 marriage. Are we talking about two people? Jim

Phoebe Cozen Cushing, baptised 15 May 1853 in Blakeney, Norfolk. Parents were Francis & Phoebe. Cant find anything else.

Are you sure his first name was Francis? No sorry I don't think it could be it, he had children with Elizabeth Chamberlain in 1847 & 49, and she died in 1855. & on the 61 Census Francis & Phoebe are recorded as married.

I can't seem to find it anywhere! Francis Cushing, to Phoebe (Or Phabe, as it is on daughters birth certificate) Couzins. In Norfolk, most likely Walsingham district. Francis first wife died in December 1855, so it would be some time after that. But in the 61 census, Phoebe is recorded as his wife. Ta. Paul.
