You've got me confused now.............earlier you stated that the father's occupation when the son married was wheelwright....now you say it's hawker. Or have I misread something? Please can you clarify........... Incidentally, have you tried to find these people on the 1881 census? It is free on www.familysearh.org Reg

G83 Report 12 Jul 2006 20:50

Put it this way on his first marriage cert he stated age 22 wife to be age 20 on his second cert he stated age 45 wife to be 30 (what a gap) but if he was 45 at 1917 he would of been born 1872 which we already know isnt true or unlikely as he married first wife in 1887 and he wasnt 15 at this marriage. Then on his death cert in 1944 he was stated as age 79 this would make him born as you said 1865. So in his 1917 marriage he fibbed he would of been 52!!

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 Jul 2006 20:48

Well, if he was 22 in 1887, by 1917 he would have been 52........was his second wife much younger than him? Reg

G83

G83 Report 12 Jul 2006 20:45

Well this is what i thougt reg fibbing i mean as in what did u mean?

G83

G83 Report 12 Jul 2006 20:45

Yep i have that cert .

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 Jul 2006 20:44

So, if was telling the truth in 1887, he was born c1865. Which means he was probably fibbing in 1917............. Reg
