annie No Yorkshire born Violet Campbells around that time-sorry. Too many Margaret Campbells. Looks like Violet could have been illegitimate - several possibilities spring to mind a) was she sent to live with another family? Possibly under another name? b) Could they both have gone back to Scotland - sorry can't do 1901 Scottish census c) Did Margaret marry? Could Violet be with her - again under her stepfather's name.

Hi Carol, On my tree I have Ann Smith nee Hartshorn b. c1800 she married Thomas Smith c1798, both of them lived in Launton after the marraige but may not have been born there, I think the best place to check would be 1851 census, as 1841 only says of this parish or not.
