Hello Alison Yes sorry, I do realise that, I just wondered if at the address you found mark donigane, there were only servants mentioned. I was wondering if Lilleshall House was the name of the 'big house' or whether these servants worked at 'Lillehall Hall' - formerly the country retreat and hunting lodge for the Duke of Sutherland, and Lilleshall House was just the place where the servants lived. Was the list you wrote before just servants living at that address? Thanks hope that's not too confusing Jan

Hello Alison Back again. This time I'm looking for a Mark Donegani in 1841. I have found him in 1851 with his wife Ann, but he is only just married then. Family legend has it that he was a servant in a big house ?Lilleshall, Shrophire before then. I would be very grateful if you could see if you can find him. He was born 1809 in Como Italy but we are not sure exactly when he came over to this country. If you do find him I would be interested in who are the other members of the household too. Hi Jean BREEZE Ive just been looking through census's again and ive found this one on 1841. There seems to be alot of ladies and a John has cropped up.. I was thinking if most of the men were traveling hair drepers then maybe these are the wives? HO107/078/22 Upwell Isle, Upwell. Cambridgeshire. The birth dates are definate for Charlotte Sawyer 1829 and her father Thomas Sawyer 1797, the others are from the IGI and are approximate. Elizabeth died in 1847 and Thomas emmigrated to New Zealand shortly after, so 1841 is the only census they would be on. Sorry you are having trouble finding them for me. Thanks again for looking. hi alison i have been searching for a long time for william breeze and his wife ann nee jay..the children that i know of are william john glover breeze born 1809.twins robert and john born 1811. and delia born 1814.the next cild was born 1821 frederick. he was born in yarmouth... he married in 1841 and on the cert his father william was still alive...but i cant find anything on him or thefirst 4 children..i dont even know if any more were born in between 1814 and 1821...i have found the first 4 as been born in easdon by northsheilds.northumberland......frederick was my g g grandfather..any help is much appreciated.. thank you jean.

Alison: I wonder if you might be able to find a family on the 1841 for me? They should be in Tonbridge Wells, Kent, I think. Thomas and Elizabeth SAWYER both born abt 1797 (he in Ticehurst which straddles border with Sussex). their children were: Elizabeth b. 1822 Edmund b.1823 Horatio b.1825 Rosamond b. 1827 Charlotte b. 1829 Caroline b.1834 Charles b.1837 William b.1840 Not all the children would necessarily be present but my direct ancestor is Charlotte - so would love to find her and her parents. Thank you for this offer Alison, I'm trying to make headway at the top of my tree on the Guylers I know for sure, the family in 1851 is living academy place basford Samuel guyler 1815 basford bleacher my great great great grandad Elizabeth wife 1818 beverlee notts George son 1839 basford Mary ann dau 1841 beverlee (not Basford) Frederick son 1847 mansfield William son 1849 mansfield - my great great grandad Emma dau 1851 10weeks basford Beverlee I'm told is the same as Begailee or similar, and Both Basford and Beverlee are close together in Nottingham. I'm trying now to work out who Elizabeth is. I think this may be Samuel(1815) in 1841 ADDRESS: Back Lane Basford Samuel 1770 ag lab Ann 1765 Samuel 1815 bleacher Thomas 1821 George 1839 However his wife is missing, and so is Mary Ann who was probably born the year of the census. It is possible that he was married twice as on the Nottingham records there is no early marriage of a Samuel and an Elizabeth. It is likely that the first marriage was: GUYLER Samuel PEARSON Sarah Basford St. Leodegarius 21/05/1838 and the second was to Elizabeth GUYLER (?related): GUYLER Samuel GUYLER Elizabeth Basford St. Leodegarius 27/10/1845 If Sarah died in 1841 on the birth of Mary Ann this would explain why Samuel is alone with George. Could you look on the 1841 census at who would be the possible Elizabeth Guyler's (c1818) and also if there is any possible Mary Ann anywhere. I'd be interested in address and occupations - I know they unfortunately didn't do relationships in 1841. Sometimes the name is spelt differently - all these count as the same name - Guyler, Guiler,Guilor,Guylor, Gaylor etc, Thank you again for your help Jan

Hi Alison, WOW! Thank you so much for that. You're the first to be able to find William at any time on a census. Sarah died in 1849 and no one can find William on any of the census up until he died in 1862 at Loose, Kent. He did remarry in 1851 and at that time he already had another four children. William Percy died the same year as Sarah. Emily and Catherine (Kate) were at a boarding school in 1851. My Great Grandfather Cardinal Wynne cannot be found anywhere; he would have been 6/7 years old. He came to Australia about 1865/66 at about age 21/22. I couldn't even find him on any shipping lists. Maybe having a christian name of Cardinal has made things confusing for people. Another child Watkin Wynne b.1846 is possibly one who was found on the 1851 Census as a Pauper at the Workhouses, but it is a bit hard to believe it is him, with his father being a Surgeon. However with his mother dead, who would know what would have happened to him, being so young when she died. William the Surgeon was apparently a drinker and died from Exhaustion from the abuse of Spirits. (Hopefully he didn't practice when he had been drinking). Thank you once again, Fran Wynne

Hi Alison, Others have tried for me without success. You may be able to help. 1841 Lookup. William Wynne (Surgeon) & Sarah (nee Cardinal). At that stage they had two children: William Percy Wynne b.1839 Islington, London. When William Percy was born his father William was listed as Medical Student. Emily Lucretia Wynne b.1840 London area. Later children were all born in the London area. Surrey, Middlesex, Kent. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Fran Wynne
