Do you know the details for the children to request one of their birth certificates to compare it to the marriage cert you have?

Hannah

Hannah Report 7 Apr 2006 22:25

no , harold had 2 boys from his first marriage, Mrs Teasdale was first employed to take care of them, then Harold married her.

Do you know if Teasdale was her married or maiden name?

Hannah

Hannah Report 7 Apr 2006 22:15

I believe so, and she had children from her first marriage. I think.

Pippa

Pippa Report 7 Apr 2006 22:13

Could it be that his second wife Ellen Teasdale was previously married so could be listed on the GRO index under her married name not her maiden name?

No it's 22 in 1937, plus I can't find another record of a Brier marrying a Teasdale. I think he must of lied on the certificate.

Are you sure the age says 22, because 33 could look like 22. You have either got the wrong certificate or your grandfather might have been wrong about his facts. Leanne.

It's really strange.

Jess Bow Bag

Jess Bow Bag Report 7 Apr 2006 15:54

that is what i mean, 1 or more of those cert must be long to another man of the same name where did harold live and where did hese marriages happen

Hannah

Hannah Report 7 Apr 2006 15:51

But he was 23 in 1927 so he can't be 22 in 1937

Jess Bow Bag

Jess Bow Bag Report 7 Apr 2006 15:43

Sorry to be dense. What actual recorded info do you have (ie NOT what your grandfather told you) but whose birth cert says what and which marriage cert says what? nell

Hannah Report 7 Apr 2006 12:00

Where did your marriages take place? have you tried finding both fathers on 1901 index? Is it possible these two men are connected in some way and have married sisters/aunt and niece? nell
