Hi Bill I have checked both Army Births and Regimental Births for the period of the 1820's without any luck. Consular Birth Registration doesn't start until 1849 and Marine Births in 1837. Charlotte

Hi Charlotte Thank you for your kind offer. I know i am asking a lot but Please could you look up Harold Chorley. He was born in Aston Birmingham in 1904 and i know he arrived in Quebec in 1927. He joined the Canadian army and i know he was in the Army for quite some time. Please can you see if you can find his regiment for me. Also i know he married and died in Canada but have no details on either event. Any information would be great. Thanks you so much for trying All the best Jane

Charlotte Report 15 Mar 2006 13:58

Hi Jane Can't find any mention of Harold Chorley at all. I can't actually see any Canandian references at all, in that period. He may have had to take Canadian Nationality to join the Canadian Army, in which case there wouldn't be any British Registrations, or Canada (and I think Australia) seem be in a different category from normal Consular Registration. I think you will have to try and get some Canadian help in your search. Charlotte

HI, thanks for the very kind offer. I know that Florence Georgina Gordon Kerr was born in India in 1879 - Daughter of Thomas and Olivia. I think that Thomas married OIivia Meskell in 1871 in INdia as well. Could you posibly look for a birth reference for either of them, thanks (army)
