The 1841 census states that ALL the Mansfield's were born in Derbyshire ................. and that Michael Harris aged 20 was born in Scotland/Ireland or Foreign parts. Elaine ;-)

You are wonderful. I might be being a bit thick here but if Mary was born about 1830ish why isn't she on the 1841 census with all the others? Thanks again for all your help

Thanks for everything. I have found a Maey Elizabeth Harris on the 1851 census she's a servant in Wimbledon. Wrong place of birth but if you look at the image they have put 'ditto' . Could be a mistake!!

I'm not 100% sure, but think I may have looked at that one - is she not Unmarried ?? .. or is this a different one ? 1871 census: Henry Prosser abt 1849 Oakham, Rutland, England Head Alfreton Derbyshire Emma Prosser abt 1847 Nottinghamshire, England Wife Alfreton Derbyshire Not sure but possible ???

Not use to reading these images so I wasn't sure whether it was 'u' for unmarried or a ditto mark. Could she have lied about being widowed?
