Jeanette The index held in records offices only goes up to 1943 for some reason. For wills after that, you'd have to contact the Probate office in York or London (look at the courtservice website)

Hi Ann I was just wondering as your post says up to 1943, is it possible to obtain wills after that year? I was hoping to get one for someone who died in 1957 Jeanette x

Will do look ups for the first 10 to ask, either next weekend, or the one after. I need name, date of death (or just year), and area lived in, if poss. Will look in year of death, and the year following (bear in mind that some wills didn't appear for a number of years after the death). No PM's please.
