I tried sending her an email. I'm just hoping she's still around. Is there any other way to contact or find her descendants?

Hi Amanda welcome to the boards

You may not have noticed, but Cherry posted this in 2006 and may not be checking for replies now.

Click on her name and send a private message, if her email address is still the same she will be notified

Hi Cherry,
My grandfather was your mothers brother! He immigrated to New Zealand around 1920. We would love to know about his family as he never told us anything.....
Hoping to hear from you.

Cherry Report 8 Jan 2006 20:21

Well trouble is Helen I've got what my Uncle from Ooop North called a 'cap rack nose' so you can hang anything on it! Only thing these days that faces North! Rest of the body is going South rapidly

you are doing fine....as well as the rest of us anyway....both Tracy and me gave you your own Mum's birth ref....shows how much we read the first sentence in your request!! LOL It is sometimes the 'twigs' that lead me off for weeks at a time because they are so fascinating....I have pages and pages of info about my GG Grandads first wife and family and I am related through the second. To do this hobby well I think you just need to be plain nosey...lol Good Luck Helen

Oh my goodness - what wonderful sleuths you all are! Yes Helen, that could be the mistake, Josie died when Mum was 13 not Josie died when she was 13. Both my Mum and my Aunt said that Grannie fed Josie bread and milk with brandy , honey, butter and vegetables from Granddad's allotment but it didn't help the poor little kitten, sad isn't it when you think that today she could have perhaps been 'mended' And thanks Orangeblossom that's my Mum's birth Sept quar 1912, she was born 3/08/1912! and her Dad was Hallett and her Mum Reed. I'd be so appreciative if Helen would look for the birth for me but I feel it's a lot to ask after all you guys have done for me today. Don't think I can ever aspire to being as 'intuitive' as you lot! Thanks so much for all your help Cherryx

Oh er Helen, never done that before! Guess I've got to put on my rain bonnet and galoshes and catch a train to Brighton then and make a day of it! Do they let you take your dinner in with you? No, guess not, these places can't have the hoi polloi dropping crumbs all over the shop, whatever next. Seriously though, is that what I do? Perhaps I'd better have a trawl through the Tips Board to see if I can find instructions. Thank you all once again. Cherry
