Lincolnshire Marriage Look Up Please

If anyone has access to parish records for Lincolnshire, I would be grateful for a look of a marriage between Isaac Alletson and Martha. I am sorry I have no idea what Parish this would have taken place in. Sorry for the vague information, but hope someone can help. Many thanks Helen |

are you sure it was Lincolnshire??? Isaac Alletson was born in Clowne, Derbyshire and his wife Martha (showing on census returns) was born in Lincolnshire. I haven't found a marriage in the Derbyshire area, so thought I would try Lincolnshire being as his wife Martha was supposedly born there. We have been searching for months for this marriage and have hit a brick wall. Two of their children were baptised in Worksop and another two in Essex (for some strange reason) and then the family moved to Rochdale/Littleborough in Lancashire. |

Do these two pieces of iformation then fit together????? Could they have got married AFTER the children were born???? Not unknown!!! Just to confuse things, there are these 2 marriages on the BVRI which are extracted records not submitted: Isaac Alletson married Martha Hare, 26 Jul.1803, St. Martin, Lincoln, Lincolnshire. Isaac Alletson married Margaret Dove, 12 Sep.1838, St. Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire. Husband's father Isaac Alletson, wife's father Samuel Dove. |

Sorry I was unable to get back to this thread earlier. Sylvia, thank you very much for your help on this one. Margaret, the Isaac who married Margaret Dove, is the son of the Isaac who I am looking for a marriage for to Martha and I think you might have just found it for me. Isaac -m- Martha Hare in Lincolnshire. Could you please let me know what the BVRI is please. Many thanks Helen |

Glad I could help, Helen. The BVRI is British Vital Records Index, a set of 16 cd's that you purchase from the LDS Church through the Familysearch site. I purchased mine many years ago and have never been able to find any of my family on them. I have more luck doing look-ups for others. I just had a look for Alletson christenings with father Isaac and there isn't one anywhere in England. Margaret |
