OOOOOOOOOOOOHH!!! Brenda!!!! Richard Buck's will - nearly £3000 !!!!!! (Yes, it's definitely the right bloke!!!!) Fantastic!!!! His daughter married a rich man and one of their descendants told be NO money came from the Buck side (ie from MY side!!). Well, I'd say, when compared with the amount left by others, MY Richard B contributed around one third to one half of the money that went into a future successful business venture! So **** to the snobby descendant who slagged off my rellie!!!! I am SOOOOO pleased - thank you so much for doing this for me!!! I will be holding my head up high when I next contact said distant cousins!!!!!!! Hope the squirrels didn't get you down too much :O(( Merry xxxxxxxxxxxxx (etc!) |

Anne No trace of will or administration for Frances Westmoreland in 1900 or 1901. Again, this does not mean that there may not have been a will proved later. |

Jonathan Sorry but there is no trace of a will or adminstration for George Brunskill in 1875 - 1876. This does not mean that he didn't leave a will, but I have just checked both series for year of death and year following. |

Heather, your description of your ancestors coincides with what the FRC staff thought of the squirrels. Wills and Admons are filed together in your period. I checked for all Hanson W & A in 1886 – 1887 and 1909 – 1913 for anyone likely. Nothing. |

Thank you everyone who posted on this thread. I got to the FRC, to discover that Secret Squirrel had sabotaged the day. Squirrels chewed through the cables, so that the computers went down yesterday. BT repaired the cables and our sweet little furry friends had another midnight feast. There was no computer access for anybody, even the staff, so I couldn't do the 1851 look ups I'd hoped for, but your list of queries kept me going. The downside was that the death indexes were very busy indeed, at least when I was there, so I wasn't able to do those lookups. Results are being posted in no particular order. |
