about time these websites started listening and charge per look up and not over charge and forcing us to buy 100 look ups. |

A distant cousin of mine was asking if I could find some of his line on ancestry - in the end, instead of fiddling about, I emailed him about 20 pages of people with that name so he could sort it himself. He emailed me back yesterday saying ancestry had sent him a mail saying he had exceeded the limit of pages he could receive from a subscriber! |

Heather how did they know that you had emailed the pages to him? I suppose I can see what they're on about...but if you only have one family to look up in a census in one area why would you buy 100 credits. Hopefully it wouldn't take 100 credit's to find them. I haven't subscribed to Ancestry yet but have considered. I think they've just finished with an offer haven't they? Paula |

Well, lets hope the rumours are true and that Ancestry are going to be loading the 41 and 51 census in the next few months. Then there will be no need for us to keep subscribing to this site and they'll have to get their revenue elsewhere. Maybe then they'll consider treating their customers a little better |

Hi Sue & Paula, Maybe Heather didn't send by private e-mail. There is an option, when viewing images on Ancestry, that used to say 'E-mail to a friend'. Now the option is 'Share'. If you click on this button, it opens an e-mail window, that automatically attaches the page and send is to whomever you chose. Presumably this is tracked by Ancestry, by cookies etc.?? Debbie |

Hi guys, yes thats what I did, just clicked on the share and sent them that way. There is apparently 20% off ancestry sub if you go through the website Lost Cousins at the mo. |

The indexs are copyright Sue, but the images are double copyright, firstly by the goverment and secondly by Ancestry, so you are breaking the law twice sending them, the information contained is not copyright, but any image of them is, like if i take a photo of Blackpool Tower, i can not copyright the tower, but i can copyright my photo of it |
