Thanks Dawn, the Lawcocks that I have is an Isabella McGregor Lawcock b1825. Her parents appear to be cousins as I have them as Andrew Lawcock b1777 (which seems quite old to be having kids but then anything was possible) and Janet Lawcock b1797. If you can expand on any of these it would be great Thanks Gloria

Hello Dawn, Can you try looking for the birth abt 1808 in Middlebie DFS for Christopher Buchanan, found him on the IGI at the LDS site but it gave no details of his parents. It did however, give the name of his spouse Margaret Bell, also found the birth of their daughter Jannet Buchanan at Middlebie in 1840. On your 1st Thread you were unable to find a Christopher brn about 1821 at Middlebie, I am hoping that the above may a relative and perhaps give a lesd to my Gt/Grandfather brn abt 1821. His son Thomas was brn in Middlebie in 1843, which you noticed. Many Thanks Doreen

PRENTICE Hi once again Dawn, This is a big one! I'm having problems tracking down the correct family as there are so many Prentice's in the Lanark areas, can you help please by checking the information I have just to be certain? I have a Robert Prentice who married Agnes Gold in Carmichael-Lanark 18/12/1857. I am unsure of Robert's dob but poss around 1834 - 1836. I 'THINK' his parents were Thomas Prentice b.1812 & Janet Gold b. 1814 who married in 1833 at Douglas-Lanark. Thomas's parents I think are Thomas Prentice & Jean Clarkson, married in 1812. I think this Thomas's parents were James Prentice and Marion Brown married 1784 in Lesmahagow-Lanarkshire. Any info on children from Thomas & Jean and James & Marion would be an added bonus - if possible. I know it's a lot to ask but I've got a feeling I've strayed onto another Prentice family. Any help on this would be really appreciated. Many thanks once again Dawn. Katherine

Hi Dawn when you have time could you see if there is anything on a Samuel Perrie and Helen Lauder. they had one son I know of about 1840 as he married Agnes/Nancy Elliot in Cadder Lanark in 1862. I would love to know if this is one of my Perries, any siblings of Samuel 1840 or his grandfather would be a great help. If it is not enough to go on don't worry. cheers Marion
