JANE BRISON Female Birth: Christening: 05 APR 1828 All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England There is a lovely photo of All Saints Church on the genuki site Rose

I would think the marriage would have been in Newcastle, rather than Tynemouth or North Shields, as Mary gives her birthplace as Newcastle on 1871census..............I've just checked and 'Ballast Hills'(1861) is in Newcastle. Rose

Where was John born? The marriage is not in 1848, 1849 or 1850.

This is the other family - mother Mary Ann Mills Nicholas Mainger abt 1839 North Shields, Northumberland, England Head Chirdon Northumberland Mary A Mainger abt 1839 North Shields, Northumberland, England Wife Chirdon Northumberland Margaret A Mainger abt 1861 North Shields, Northumberland, England Daughter Chirdon Northumberland George W Mainger abt 1847 North Shields, Northumberland, England Brother Chirdon Northumberland Yours definitely didn't marry Mary Bryson in Dec 1857. He's not there at all. Only think I can suggest, is look through all the images from 1851-1861 to see if you can fins a marriage for him.

Sorry to keep on, know i sound dense, but where did you get the refs for Tynemouth Dec 1857 from? I take it your relative's birth cert states that father is Nicholas Mainger, mother Mary Mainger, formerly Bryson Is Nicholas married on 1851 census?
