Hi Jackie, Thanks for the info, some of the names do seem to crop up in my tree. I have found a John Dale born abt 1839 on the 1861 census living with a family called Moody in Garden (?) Street, Castle Church. Any trace of them in 1851? Also a marriage has come to light between Martha Dale & Thomas Ferris in 1842, do they appear in 1851? Many thanks Simon

Jacqueline Many thanks for the offer. Clutching at straws here but the following people may be in Burton on Trent: Michael Dilks born Stapenhill, Derbys c1806 Mary Dilks born c1806, not Derbys/Staffs Joseph Dilks born Great Sankey, Lancs c1831 Ann Dilks born Stapenhill, Derbys c1835 John Dilks born ? c1836 Michael Dilks born Stapenhill, Derbys 1840. The family were in Stapenhill in 1841 but not in 1851. If you come across any other Dilks in Burton on Trent they are undoubtedly related so if it isn't too much trouble to jot them down I would be really grateful. Many thanks Andrea

Hi Jacqueline Me again! Could i just ask, please, if there was an age given for Joseph Careles, uncle, wid, blank tray maker born Salop, Dawley, living with George Williams at 17 Temple Street, Bilston. Have had a death cert today for, possibly, my 3xGt Grandfather Joseph Careless, died in 1844 and the informant was Edward Careless from Bilston and you found me an Edward at 145 Temple st, Bilston, so I am even more confused now!!
