My ggrandparents first 3 children all died before they were a year old so not impossible. Not sure what coverage is like for Yorkshire on the BVRI discs but will have a look tomorrow for any Carlton baptisms unless someone has already done that for you. Sometimes you get lucky and it gives you the DOB as well Lou

Hi Lou, Just checked and Percy's dad was married to Mary Hannah Cousins before and she died Jun 1881. If she died in childbirth it could be they never got around to registering Percy. Crista

Hi Crista I did suggest to Zoe the other day that he may have been illegitimate given the timing of the parents marriage but she checked under Marshall (I think) and couldn't see him. Not unless Mum had been married before too and for some reason didn't give him Marshall but her original name, whatever that may have been! Lou

He's also an only child. Could be he was adopted? Crista
