Hi Sarah Thank you for the look up I don't know wether to jump for joy or cry. I don't know of any family members on the Collins side or any other siblings but it would be nice to know if there was. They lived in Ardwick so that will be them. A bit puzzled though May seems the right one, on Johns birth cert she is a fancy box maker but her husband Robert (no middle name for him) was a painter and decorator. On the 1901 census this shows as either her brother or father. On John's birth cert dated 1906 there is no maiden name for May and the father isn't on it , but on John's m cert the father is named as Robert Collins Painter and Decorator. I never new there was any other members of the family. Again Thank You and keep up the good work Kath.

Hi Sarah, Looking for an address on the 1871 Census. Someone very kindly found the people that I was searching for but gave me no address. I didn’t like to ask for anything over and above but it’s been driving me mad all day not knowing. If you can help you’ll be instrumental in the restoration of my sanity. The details that I received are as follows: John J B Snell 89 London, Middlesex, Head Mile End Old Town London Elizabeth Snell 36 Carfleet, Essex, Wife Mile End Old Town London John E Snell 16 London, Middlesex, Son Mile End Old Town London Louisa Snell 10 London, Middlesex, Daughter Mile End Old Town London John J B Snell was actually 39 and Elizabeth was from Perfleet. KATHLEEN - do you have the birth cert for John? Does it say what May's maiden name was? The only marriage I have found so far with the groom Robert Collins and his wife May is this one: Aldous, May 1887 December Marriages Norwich Norfolk COLLINS, Robert James 1887 December Marriages Norwich Norfolk but this is nowhere near Manchester! Do you have any other details ie were there any older or younger children? Approx ages for any of them? Thanks for the offer Sarah am trying to find out any info on a Robert Collins and May Collins who lived in manchester when 1 of their son's was bornJohn Collins in 1906. I am trying to find out their m date and both births but not knowing anything about them is proving hard. Anything before 1901 would be a start, as far as i am aware they were both born in manchester lancashire. Robert is not on his sons birth cert but is on his m cert in 1937 (i know you dont go that far up)as being deceased and painter and decorator so i assume he was away in the war Thank you for any info Kath.
