Also includes some information on St Ives & Higham Ferrars, Luton & Hertford and Leighton Buzzard Circuits. Note: Just lists of NAMES & DATES. No BMD SANDY: 1891 Census. SHEFFORD/CAMPTON: Parish Register. Baptisms, Banns, Marriages & Burials 1568 - 1812. Note: NOTHING after 1812. SOUTHILL: Independent (Baptist) Church 1693 - 1851. Record of proceedings, baptisms etc 1693 - 1851. SUTTON: 1891 Census. TEMPSFORD: 1891 Census. WRESTLINGWORTH: 1891 Census. LUTON NATIONAL ROLL OF THE GREAT WAR . (1914-1918) Do you have a WW1 serviceman/woman in your tree from the Luton area …. This book is in my local library; happy to look for you next time I visit. typical entries ... TOMLIN, A. Private. R.A.S.C. Joining in March 1917, he was shortly afterwards drafted to France, and stationed at Calais, where he did valuable work as a baker. On the conclusion of hostilities he returned home, and was demobilised in January 1919. He holds the General Service and Victory Medals. 38, Peach Street, Luton. ........................ TOMLIN, C., Private, 1st Bedfordshire Regiment. He volunteered in September 1914, and in the following November proceeded to the Western Front. He was engaged in heavy fighting in various parts of the line, and fought in the Battle of Ypres and other important operations. He was killed in action near Ypres on February 20th, 1915, and was entitled to the 1914 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 54, Sunnyside, Hitchin. ....................... Cemetery: LE TOURET MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France, Grave or Reference Panel Number: Panels 45 & 46
Son of George Francis and Emily Darby, of "St Ives", Oak Road, Leagrave, Beds.
