Margaret Hi Still can't find them on the 1881 but I'm pretty sure this is them on the 1871 if you accept that the enumerator has put the two daughters ages round the wrong way and that Walter and Sarah's birthplace was not correct on the 1891 census. But the names , ages and particularly Walter's occupation fits as a Painter!! 1871 Census RG10/643 Dist St Olave Southwark/Rotherhithe Folio 21 Page 38 Walter Webb Head 27 Painter born Rockhill Cambell N.K. (have no idea where that is!! Camberwell maybe?) Sarah Webb Wife 24 Born Stirbeth? Suffolk Ada Webb Daughter 4 born Rotherhithe Mary Webb Daughter 2 born Rotherhithe 23 Chilton Street, Rotherhite Surrey Cheers Michelle

Thanks Michelle, I did not know what was possible with Ancestry. The family I am looking for includes a Mary Humpheryes (widowed born 1820), Hetty (henrietta born 1859) daughter, Alfred son (born 1863), Emily (born 1866) and possibly others. They were present in 1881 23 king street London and would be interested if they are there in 1871, 1891 and who was sharing the same address with them. Thanks very much, the Humpheryes name was spelt Humphries in the 1881 census.

Ian Found them on the 1871 Census but could only find a possible for Alfred on the 1891 Census ( The girls may have married and Mary may have died) 1871 Census RG10/137 Dist Westminster/Golden Square Folio 77 Page 27 23 King Street Golden Square St James London James Humphreys Head 55 B? Maker born Marylebone Mary Humphreys Wife 50 born St James Middx Jack Humphreys Son 20 Gas Fitter & Brass Finnisher born St James Middx Henrietta Humphreys Daughter 11 born St James Middx Alfred Humphreys Son 8 born St James Middx Emily Humphreys Daughter 5 born St James Middx Mary A Woodbury Grandaughter 3 born Paddington 1891 CEnsus RG12/87 Dist Westminster/St James Folio 19 Page 20 28 Rupert Street St James Westminster Alfred Humphreys Head 28 Compositir born St James London Amelia Humphreys Wife 25 Laundress born Marylebone London Herman Fogelman Lodger 26 Tailor born Rodornt? I checked 23 King Street on the 1861 Census but a family called Chattenden were living there and no sign on my index for them ( the index isn't very good!!) I have saved the image for the 1871 Census for you if you send me your email address. Cheers Michelle
