Are you and David Manwaring researching the same person: Brickwall I am looking (assisting a fellow researcher) for the birth record (or any record!) of a gentleman- Frederick Henry George. He may have been born in Australia C1881, I have checked(and had it checked) the Australian VRI but no luck. I have also checked service records in both Australia and UK and to date no luck. It is known that after WW1 he married and settled in England. Would his marriage cert provide much info. I would suspect that the other researcher may have gone down the marriage track... Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Could be that the same man had a motorcycle accident BUT it wasn't that that killed him! S:>

You seem to have alot of coincidences there with the other man. Is there anything about addresses or informants that could link to your family?

You mean that's the family story. Maybe it isn't entirely true... or perhaps it happened in a different year. nell

Val If your guy died at the end of 1927 his death could have been registered Mar quarter of 1928. nell

Hi Had a look on 1837. The only Frederick H George death registered in the timeframe has the following certificate ref: Frederick H George, age 45 yrs Jan - Mar period of 1928, W. Ham, Volume 4a, Page 215 Hope this is the right one! S:>

Have you been unable to find an entry in the death indexes for him? I'd certainly see if I could get the death cert, it would say whether there was an inquest or not and you'd have a specific date to search the newspapers. I would think there were lots of motorcycles around in 1927. My own uncles had an accident on a motorbike in the early 1930s, as a result of which they were both lamed for life. nell

Hi, You need to narrow down the date. You can search newspapers in the Colindale library but you need a date of death to start or it could take forever. Gwynne

Hi.. Can anyone please help me, find the details of the death of my Grandfather, FREDERICK HENRY GEORGE. He died in London or Manchester in a motorcycle accident in 1927!....He was decapitated!! I dont have a death certificate!!.. I'm hoping that, as there can't have been that many motorcycles on the road then, it may have been recorded in the news?! will be grateful for any help Many thanks Val
