Andrea if you can do this for me it would be brilliant! I have Charles SMALL m. Dorothy BELL at St Paul's Jarrow in 1808. They had Robert b. 1808 and Francis, b. 1810. Could you see if there's a death for Robert? I haven't been able to trace him. Also if there are any other children. I suspect that they moved more into South Shields - at least Francis did. His family were baptised/buried at St Hilda's. thanks in anticipation! Jan

Hi Andrea I am trying to locate a James Renwick b abt 1833,would like to try and find his parents. He was born in Gateshead about 1833 father's name probably Richard Renwick. His mother I think could have been born in Newcastle and maiden name is something like Fish or Tish, the ish is quite clear but cannot make out the first letter of the surname. Would be grateful if you could find anything out, I have him in 1851 census but he is with maternal grandparents then. Many thanks Maureen

Hi Andrea, Can you possibly look up baptisms for children of William & Eleanor Wilkinson in Cassop, Co. Durham. The family were living there in 1861, & then living in Lodge Street, Gateshead in 1881. At least 2 of their children were born in Cassop - Thomas 1865 & Henry 1866. John was born 1869/70 in Gateshead. Any other children found in Cassop will be very welcome indeed. Also need to find death of Jane Hannah Wilkinson. Born 1835 in Houghton Le Spring, gave birth to Henry Wilkinson, born 1859 in Cassop. She then is never heard of again!! Any clue as to what happened to her is eagerly awaited. Thanks, Marcus

Jan I didn't have time to check everything - particularly St Hilda's as it is immense - but here's what I didn't find - I checked St Pauls and there were no more baptisms for Charles and Dorothy between 1810 and 1835. There were also no burials for Robert between 1808 and 1811. There were no more baptisms for Charles and Dorothy at St Hilda's either between 1810 and 1815. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Andrea

Maureen There were loads of parishes in Newcastle and Gateshead so I din't know where to start looking sorry. If you can find a parish (from the 1851 census would be a good place to start) I can look next time I go. Thanks Andrea

Janet I found the marriage of Charles Pearson and Jane Turnbull in St Nicholas Parish Church (which is the parish where Close is). They were married on 3 June 1850. Charles was a joiner and his father John was a labourer. Jane's father was called Jacob and his occupation was a pitman I think. The witnesses were Robert Stephenson and William Pearson. They both came from Close. Hope that helps Andrea

Shelly Out of luck with Allenheads/Allendale. It's on the borders of Northumerland and the records office think the records are probably with Cumbria as they are definitely not with them. Hopefully better luck on Friday in Durham. Thanks Andrea

Hello Andrea: Don't know if a) I'm too late making this request; b) if Tyne & Wear have Hexham PR's; c) if this request is too vague anyway ---- but here goes just in case. Looking for my wife's g-grandfather Halliburton Armstrong. All the censuses say he was born Hexham (or Dilston which I believe is close by) - but he was such a good liar his d o b could be between 1840 and 1846 (obviously depending on how much he'd had to drink when the enumerator called lolll). Don't worry if you can't help with this one, Andrea, I'll be heading for Hexham early next year hoping to dig him out if you don't beat me to it. Best wishes, and good hunting of your own, Gordon.
