Hi Elizabeth Thank you for looking for Gillow Heath. Perhaps you could look in Biddulph for ancient Shufflebothams (over 60), namely Martha, and a married couple James and Mary. I would be very grateful. Thank you Bronwyn

Hi Suzanna, Sorry, I only have the 1841 Staffordshire census. You could start by looking for them on the 1901 census or looking for their marriage on the GRO index. Good luck!

Elizabeth Report 16 Aug 2004 11:44

Hi Irene, The only TAYLOR family on Church Street belongs to Montague and Elizabeth Taylor. Julie - that would make him minus 1 in 1841 ;) I'm sure someone around here will look on the 1851 for you though.

Liz, The whole of Tipton took me a whole afternoon/evening last time. If you have an address I can have a go at finding it, but there's no index of any kind and the streets are often split up so it's difficult. Liz

Hi I'm looking for a VERNON PEDLEY, in 1841 he would be about 15. Born in Wetley Rocks Staffordshire, (also spelled as Whetty or Whiteley, depending which census) . Could be living either there or Cheddleton, Staffordshire. Sorry but I don't know his parents details. Hopefully won't be too many Vernon Pedleys. Don't have a street name but Wetley Rocks is only very small now, must have been minute in 1841!! Same for Cheddleton. Also if you have the time, THOMAS HILL (b1821) of Leek, Staffordshire, possibly at this time married to ELIZABETH JERVISS but not sure. Thanks for looking, even if you don't find anything I'm very grateful. Sam

BECKY: Hi, I've been through the whole of the parish now but didn't find an Emily Colclough with the right age. I did find the Sabina you mentioned, but no Emily in that family, and I also found an "Emileh" (think that's what it says) aged 6. If either of those are of interest to you let me know - I've saved the details and images for now. Liz

Being new to the site, I sent this earlier today by the wrong route! Sorry for the repetition. You must be a saint to undertake all these searches! I would be very grateful it you could find information about Eli Allcock, who I believe was born in Stafford in 1831, making him about 10 years old in 1841. Thankyou in anticipation, Mai Orme
