Susie There are no records of christenings /marriages at Elston other than the marriage you have. Cutts and Thorpe are quite common in Notts. I have checked 1841 and it seems that Elston does not show seperately and would be a very few houses then but the two name do appear Southwell/Newark. I you come up with any individual name. please get back

Linda If the decoder is working correctly then these are together on the 1901 census. Gertrude 22 b Wingham, Sarah 28 b Wingham, Mary 37 b Wingham,George 64 b Nottm, Eliza 63 b Beeston. These names fit the 1881 Census. I cannot give you the address from the decoder. There is a marriage of a George Timson to Eliza Bucknall, at Nottm St Peter,21.11.1858 that may fit. I have never heard of Wingham, my guess is Bingham

Caz No trace of Bemjamin on Christenings/Marriages or 1841/1861 Census Tuxford Notts. I have also checked Rotherham 1871 Index (Which covers Kimberworth), and there are no Hammells there. Benjamins wife comes from Darnall which is Sheffield, so that might be the place to look for a marriage. It looks as though the family might be in Worsbro in 1871

Linda I never bank on an age in any census, only Certificates. The Gertrude I mentioned is the only one listed so I would have a look at her. I did not check where she was or who she was with.

Dawn, You will need to look at these carefully. The spellings are as written. Christenings North Clifton Robert Wm. 7.12.1850 Henry/Anne Jackson Joseph 29.8.1852 Henry/Hannah George 2.2.1856 dit John Stanely 11.8.1861 dit Marriage at North Clifton 7.2.1850 Henry Jackson/Hannah Staveley This surname fits with your 1881 Census. 1861 Census Piece 2476 Folio 117 18 Silver Street. North Clifton Henry Jackson 31 Joiner b Beeston Hannah 34 b North Clifton Sarah Ann 3 b dit North Clifton is only 2 Folios at that time. I cannot find the family in that village in 1871. Henrys christening is not listed and I cannot find him in Beeston 1841. I will do some more checks later.

Hi Robin I was wondering if you could find a Beatrice Day, all I know that on the 1901 census it says she was born Notts and int the 1891 census it says Hook Hampshire, so I am really not sure I cant find her on 1837 anywhere oh the year of birth was about 1889. Thank you Debbie

Madeline The marriage is not on Free BMD and my indexes are mostly pre 1901. If you know the approximate date and area, you should find it on 1837 online. Do you know how old George was on death? as there is a possible born in Long Eaton. about 1887. I cannot find any Christenings in Notts. Do you know who Frances is with in 1901?
