Hi Linda I would be grateful if you could find anything at all for William Lewis Long. According to both the 1881 & 1901 Census he was born around 1863 but one says Woodstock, Oxford and the other says Chefordshire, Stafford. Having checked 1837 Online the only William Lewis Long born around this time was in Birmingham. Unfortunately I don't know his mother or father's name, but he was married twice, 1st wife Martha, 2nd Caroline and was a farrier by trade. He lived mostly in and around London. If it is of any help he was conscripted for service in 1915 into the Army Veterinary Corps but lied about his age, saying he was 48 but his photo clearly shows that he was closer to 58-60. If you could shed absolutely any light on him at all I would be really grateful.

Hi Linda, thanks again for previous stuff. Am now interested in DONAH (10 listed on the 1871 census, 11 on 1891), believe this is terrible mis-spelling of my DONATI ancestors. Have just found a family of them on 1901 as Donah!! Thanks again, Steph

Hi Linda, thanks for your kind offer. Does this cover Ireland? If so, I have hit a brick wall with my great grandmother Annie Rowland. I have her marriage to British Army Officer George Dicks in Dublin in 1882 (Rathmines Chapel) and know she had been living on Rathmines Road as a lady's companion around that time, but I cannot find where she was born (probably c1860). I think her parents were William Rowland and Catherine Macdonald, though not certain. Very grateful for any leads at all - thanks. Lyn.

Thank you so much. If you are not too inundated with enquiries I wonder if you could try my Gurr family in Brighton. According to her marriage certificate Emily was born in 1840 in Brighton, father Henry. Can't find a birth registration for her on 1837 or anything at all on Henry. Should love to find a marriage for him!

Hello Linda, I'm having difficulty tracking down my HILL family on the 1851/61 census. I'd really love if you could validate some births for me. David and Harriet Hill had the following children, (later census say there were born in Hill Top which is now part of West Bromwich, in Staffordshire. I'm wondering if they are fibbing about their birthplaces or were beamed down from another planet!!) Their names are: James born around 1843 Mary born around 1850 John born around 1853 I haven't managed to fill in the gap between James and Mary, the family then moved to Manchester and had several more sons from around 1860. Thank you so much for looking, your help is very much appreciated. Diane
