Little Lost

Little Lost Report 6 Feb 2004 10:33

Hi Shirley as far as I know he did die in Medway. I know I will have trouble searching this one as the name is so common but on the other hand I did have trouble searching a rare name. If you do have time to look it would be great. Thanks Gloria

To everyone we helped. It was lovely to get all your comments on the results. We had a hectic afternoon and the time flew. We tried to get something for everyone that asked. Sorry we could not do more. All the best in your research Shirley and April.

Hi Shirley, Thanks so much for the Holloways. The 1871 William is definately mine, and the 1861 John also looks promising. I know that there are still a lot of Holloways in Strood, my dad grew up there (top end of Carnation) before moving to NYC 25 years ago. Will email you direct when my dad gets home from work. Thanks again, Jonathan

Hi Shirley, I've sent you an Email. Thank-you very much for your help and for finding me a new family member (little Emma) whom I hadn't known existed, and now I've got someone else to look up! Cheers :)))

Hi Shirley Thanks to you and April as well. I think Hannah and Thomas Boakes may be mine, more checking to do. Anytime you can get a chance to check the marriage of Mary Cassidy would be wonderful. Thanks again Teresa

Gina I live and work in Strood. When we were asking about the pub and mentioned the name Ring we were told someone named Henry Ring was murdered after a game of skittles. Not sure of circumstances whether it was at pub or another time. Shirley

Thank you very much Shirley for taking the time to do this. I don't think I would be able to spare the time for anyone else's lookups on a visit. I have my work cut out to do my own! Very grateful to you. Anne

To Sarah Day. We did ask about this one but St Lawrence comes under the Canterbury district of Kent. We think it is in Ramsgate area. There should be records for those churches there. Sorry Shirley

Clare We went to the city arc in Strood. We felt bit bit overwhelmed and had to keep asking for help. The time went too quick and unless you have the name of the church or a specific date it is very difficult to trace births or marriages. Shirley

Shirley I'm guessing that I didn't give you enough info. What other info do you need? I don't have much at all really. If I were ever able to conduct a search myself, would I find it difficult with the information that I have? Or did you simply not see the message in time, or not have the time? Chloe (re: Corby and Swail in Chatham - non conformists)
