Thank you susie for your help. I have located alice in 1881 already, she is widowed and jane is not living here. alice was born in grafton berks and by 1881 was in epsom living with janes son edwin william and her own daughter too. The problem i have is trying to find thomas at some stage as he was possibly janes father as her sister sophias father was thomas too. Jane had edwin at a very young age in 1872 as alice was only 34 in 1872. jane then seems to disapear and edwin is bought up by his grandmother..... i am just trying to find a birth for jane during that period 1850 to 1859 with mother alice and father thomas in that area. hi debbie the only herbert lindsay born in bromley by bow is 9yrs old.i cant find an elizabeth aged 71 either. ive tried soundex and all variations but still found nothing sorry susie

hi rebecca ive had a good look on 1891 for jane and theres only one born in battersea and shes 21 and married.ive looked at all of the janes aged 21 to 29,but none with a dad thomas how old would thomas and alice be susie

Hi Susie, This may be an impossible task as I don’t know what information you need for the look-up If at all possible any info that you can find on Thomas Laidlaw b 1879/1880. In later life he was in the Wirral but I am not sure if he would have been there then. Thank you Ian
