Hi Renee, I'm sorry but I went this morning. So I have been and gone.

Hope this is the right place to post my need for a medals look-up. I have a picture of my father, Arthur Alfred Lepine, born July 14, 1882, in Kingston. The picture shows him in the Surrey Regiment, Maybe Boer war. I have heard he did receive some medals. Any help would be appreciated.

MIC = Medal Index Card Roll & Page: With each medal awarded on MIC it gives a ref to the actual paperwork that may give additional info but sorry I did not have time to order & view them. Hi Lynda, I found a MIC for a Thomas James Maggs but unsure if it is your one but here goes: For his Corps it has 'ASL' or 'ASG'. Regiment it only has 'SS' - ? Service number; 6917 This soldier recieved the Victory - Roll number RASC/10113246 page 25314 Also, The Star - Roll Number RASL/6B11 page 5026 It stated Theatre of war was: (1) France Additional info. was that he was discharged. So I don't know whether or not he also went onto fight again later or unfortunately this is not your soldier. However, she did say that if he was serving in the war during the time of any of his children being born then the service birth certificates should state which regiment and other info on them. Hi Gillian According to their site, the older divorce records are at the National Archive, Kew, Richmond, Surrey, but heaven knows There is a way of ordering them online for a fee, which I have what building or where you would have to go to find them. no problem with, but I find their catalogue very confusing. I know they seem to think it is easy but I am totally bewildered most of the time. I have asked if anyone here has ordered online from there but have had no replies so I guess not. Hi Sandra, I have only been to Q National Archives once but I am of the understanding that the only records that they hold there are to do with British Wars and Service records. I think the General Records office at Summerset House is the place that would hold the info you require and unfortunately I'm not going there. Sorry. Gillian

Hi Gillian, If you have the time could you please see if you can find information on William Noon(e) born 1793-1795 in Thurlaston, Warwickshire, part of Dunchurch parish.He was married to Fanny(Francis). In 1851 census he was described as Greenwich Pensioner and on marriage cert in 1820 was stationed as private, later corporal at Plymouth division of marines. I would be very interested to know if there are any further details concerning his military service. With thanks, Karen
