A quick apology to Margaret and Angela for not getting back to them on the further info they found, but I've been contacted by a lady about my Cocks family and she's turned out to be my 3rd cousin, whom I didn't know existed and with whom I've been e-mailing details for the last couple of days. I will look into the records they found and thanks to them once again. I would still be interested if anybody is a member of the Lincolnshire FHS and who could access the surname interest for Swann in Holbeach, shown on their website. Regards Ron

The BVRI has Alfred Swan christened 20 Apr.1834, Tydd, Lincolnshire. Parents Benjamin & Mary. On the 1851 census he's an apprentice tailor in Sutton St. Mary, Lincolnshire.

I have Benjamin in the 1841 census with his wife Mary and 5 sons: William, James, Alfred, George and Charles. They lived in the parish of St Mary Sutton in Lincolnshire, registration district of Holbeach. I have been unable to find him in any future census, nor his death. Any help on this would be appreciated. I noticed on the Lincolnshire Family History Society website that someone has surname interests for Swan(n) in Holbeach but I can't access the records because you need to be a member. Is there any kind person who is a member who would be willing to look on my behalf? Thanks in advance Ron
