Hi Wendy Is this her brother? Births Dec 1838 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BELILO Macclup Whitechapel 2 447 Looks like he's on 1881 census as Maccluf - and says there he was born in Spain. Did the family come from Spain? Jill |

Hello Jill Yes I think it is.....I have all the census returns for the family, death and marriage certs, apart from the birth of my Gt.Grandmother. The trouble is BELILO can be spelt so many different ways. I think the only way I am going to find it is to make a trip to Guildhall and search the parish registrars. BUT I have just had a look at Macluffs birth cert (having had my memory jogged by you thanks :-) and he was born in Leman Street WHITECHAPEL 3 years before her!! I have been looking in the wrong area!! I need to look at the Whitechapel registrars. Funny she is not on any GRO or BMD indexes, I have searched til blue in the face and under every different spelling I can think of... Not sure why it says Spain, the family do have some connection with the area. Thanks for looking Wendy |
