thanks for trying-I think Emma must have kept him hidden till her mother died!!!! But perhaps thats a little fanciful!

I've had a look, can't see him as Daykin, Dakin, Deacon. Could he be with one of Emma's siblings, and have been mis-identified with their surname?? Just a thought! Sylvia

Can some eagle eyed person spot William H Daykin in the 1891 census? He suddenly appears aged 17 in 1901 alongside his mother Emma Daykin and brother Ernest aged 5. He is stated as born Nottingham circa 1884, but he is not with his mother in 1891 a she is in 3 rooms with her 81 year old mother Hannah Daykin. Emma appears not to have married-youngest daughter and all that, but she does appear to have had some fun!!! I have found a birth ref which could be him-William Holes Daykin Mar qtr 1884 Nottingham Any takers?
