Brian Are you presuming a date of birth for William from Jane's marriage cert to John Trivett? This William is actually in Lyme Regis, could this be the one? I'm just going to look at the image. There is also a Jane Clark working as a servant in Lyme, aged 20. William Clarke Age: 40 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1801 Gender: Male Where born: Dorset, England Civil Parish: Lyme Regis Hundred: Lyme Regis Borough County/Island: Dorset Country: England Street address: Occupation: View Image Registration district: Axminster Sub-registration district: Lyme Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Elizabeth Clarke 50 Mary Clarke 15 William Clarke 40 William Clarke 20 Angela Brian, this one's a labourer - address Charmouth Road

I have Him on Jane Clarke's marriage cert' in 1843, so this could be the correct Family (Jane was My GG Grandmother). I have Jane as being born in Lyme Regis c1826. Brian.

How old was he when you have him as a labourer? It's just that I have a few in my tree who were skilled craftsmen, but ended up as labourers when they were well into their seventies. Seems they took any job they could get when needed. Kath. x
