Lynn, the record that Brenda found is probably him as Muckleston is very near Ashley where he married Roy

1841 census does not indicate relationship(s) ...... only thing is does it show M.S or F.S in occupation (meaning Male Servant ro Farm Servant) ........ but that can be seen for people with the same surname!! You have to assume relationships until proven. Have you tried going to familysearch.org (the Mormon site, and seeing if you can find the family before 1837??? It's free, so you can have the fun of searching it yourself!!

Samuel Platt 40 is down as not born in county and working for the Bruckshaw family, on the 1851 Joseph is down as sevant to the Bruckshaw family Margaret Platt 60 is named after Samuel but before children so could be their mother? Roy

a Samuel Platt married a Margaret Meakin in 1825, Mucklestone extracted record from parish register. On familysearch
