Demelza, she's given you all the William Charltons on the 1851 census of the right age and place 'cos you din't give much help for sorting them out. You've got several to choose from there!!

Thank you for your replies. Vera: I meant that he was 43 years old at the time of the c.1851. Scarlett: I am afraid that I don't really understand your response. I can see that William was a servant born in Simonburn - but who exactly were the other people in his household?

just guessing with what is there 1851 census - all the right name, right place William Charlton abt 1837 Northd, Simonburn Servant Hexham Northumberland William Charlton Robert,Margaret,Elizabeth abt 1819 Northd, Warden Son Hexham Northumberland William Charlton Ann abt 1821 Northd, Hexham Son Hexham Northumberland William Charlton abt 1776 Northd, Hexham Lodger Hexham Northumberland William Charlton Edward, Ann abt 1848 Northd, Hexham Son Hexham Northumberland
