work your way back in logical steps, starting with your parents birth certs. they will name their parents. Then you can find your grandparents births, and again send for their birth certificates. You may need marraige certificates to confirm fathers names along the way, to indentify the right births. As soon as you get back to someone born before 1900 it gets easier, Knowing where people were born and married ( which often isnt the same) does help. take it slowly and work back. what is your assumption that Violet was born in 1860 based on?

Where did you get the information that you have? Do you know anything else ..... such as where they lived? The ONLY Brinley Landrygan birth registration that shows on Freebmd is the following:- Surname First name(s) District Vol Page -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Births Dec 1896 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Landrygan Brinley Neath 11a 912 He was awful young to marry someone born in 1860!!!! Freebmd is FREE so you can search on there for yourself ...... play around with alternate spellings, or use the wild card * eg, Landr* or Gittin*
