Find Ancestors

I feel awful asking, but I struggle to find the correct information myself!! I am seeking information on my Grandmother and Great Grandmother. GM = Emily Etta Lizzie Alder. Born Farringdon 2-6-1906 Died 20-11/1973 Not actually sure if she married my grandfather, George Preston. My father is their son, John Michael Preston, born 29/12/ 1931 Emilys mother was Lily Keene - born somewhere between 1885 & 1887. According to death cert she died 10/2/1960 aged 73. However only record of her I can find is 1891 & 1901 census, however these makes her year of birth c.1885?? I am not even sure if this is definetly her!! I am desperately trying to find any confirmation/conflict of these details and also trying to find more details of them, ideally Lilys parents etc etc as I have some info but am not sure I am tracing the correct Keene family!! Emily Etta Lizzie' father was Emmanuel Church Alder, born 1879, however this side of the family is quite easy to trace back! If any wonderful person out there fancies helping me, I would be extremely grateful! I have to log off the PC now, but will be back tomorrow, so please do not think me rude if I do not reply tonight. They did marry ist quarter 1928 at Wandsworth 1d 553 and your Dad's birth was registered at Wandsworth 1st Quarter 1932. Parents had 6 weeks to register a birth. Good luck with your research Irene

Hi Georgina. According to Ancestry... birth regestered March Q 1932 Wandsworth volume 1d page 681. John M Preston (mothers maiden name Alder ). Hope this helps. Malcolm.
