I have enjoyed the vast majority of my time here. But Genes Reunited takes without giving fair enough some will say. I was very unhappy they revealed my tree to all and sundry including people I had to have banned from contacting me!! So I will still be available for the look ups I offered here at other sites. Hi Donegal girl, Sorry you too have had this problem,it did not end for me here as I found my tree uploaded in it's entirity on various other family tree sites, please check very carefully, it has given me a mighty headache. Take care and all the very best wishes. Marian

Hi you Dont go , we have all had our grumbles with GR i have they tell me 2months in advance to renew i just ignore and do it one day before expiry date , if you go i wish you all the luck in the world , GR is losing a a valuable member god bless Love Carol x

Oh! Donegal Girl, what a shame your leaving you have been such a wealth of information for many of us on this site, without your input most of us would still be floundering, so sad that peeps are moving off from here. The tree business is frustrating and also an infringement allowing others access without one's permission, think they are trying to hard to find connections with trees, perhaps the staff need retraining and reminding of the PRIVACY LAWS. Anyway I wish you all the best of luck, hope you will be happy were your going, despite what you think I think you were respected here, always the minority somewhere spoils things. Well I cant blame you. I had someone enter my personal records on here and change my board name to something insulting/rude - GR denies it could have happened but many of you saw it happen! Ive had my tree stolen by people I had banned from seeing it but GR allowed them to do so. Ive removed my tree now and yet I am still receiving emails from unknowing souls giving me access to their trees. I contact everyone of them and none have them have known that I could wander through their personal details. Its a terrible situation - and only the minority who actually use the boards are aware of it - the vast silent majority who put on their trees and then rarely check on it have no idea that people will have been allowed access to their private details. Yet, no real apology has been forthcoming - more a basic denial that any such thing could ever happen on here. And as donegal says, its the members who have made this site a success and earned the profit for the owners. The actual site does nothing to help in research at all yet advertise that newcomers can find all their family tree on here - LOL. Yes, with the help of the unpaid research team. Anyone else who is leaving will get a warm welcome over on family tree forum.
