I have just found out about an adopted sister and wonder if anyone can help me with a Birth for her as this is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Name is Le Hunt or Lehunt (Surname) First Name Unknown Year of birth: 1960 approx 5-10 years before and after Birthplace: Geelong Victoria Thanks in anticipation Michelle

Hey :) You can search the birth indexs for free at this website. http://content.ancestry*co.uk/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=8964&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0 (replace the * with a dot) You may have to register but you can do that for free. Hope you find what your looking for Mhairi

I've just read your other messge further down the page...is the birth your looking for in the UK or outside? The above link is only for England and Wales, i'm not sure about Australia (if thats where you are looking) You could try this website http://www.naa.gov.au/publications/fact_sheets/fs89.html It may point you in the right direction Mhairi

This is the Victoria BMD site: http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/home but the online birth index only goes up to 1906. If you read the information on their site, it should tell you whether you can apply for a 1960-ish cert.
