Many thanks Margaret, looks like they Emma and George only went to New Zealand for a short time and in that time they had their son - Fawcett Storey, looks like he was their only child, how sad he was killed in the 1st world war. thanks again this has given me more to think about and link up, best wishes angela

just re-read the thread and see it was his grandmother betty Fawcett that the forename comes from...

Thankyou very much Pam and Margaret, how fascinating that he came from New Zealand.....there is an ancestor called John Fawcett born 1763 went to Australia or new Zealand from the old Hutton area..i wonder if Fawcett storey is connected to him....i'll have to see where he get's Fawcett for his forename from?.... many thanks again regards angela

I have been searching old Hutton Church for Fawcett Ancestors and came across a plague inside on the wall dedicated to Fawcett Storey killed at Arras 1917 aged 27...he must be linked to my Fawcett's could somebody please look him up on the 1891 and 1901 cencus to see who his parents and siblings were, looks like he was born 1890 and the Plague says Bridge End House....Old Hutton Westmorland regards angela
