This is the Nova Scotia one: BURRY, Joseph Sr. 'Joe' BURRY, Joseph Sr. 'Joe' - 84, Arnold Drive, Halifax, passed away September 16, 2004, in the Dixon Centre, VG Site, QEII. Born in Greenspond, NL, October 30, 1919, he was a son of the late Asher and Edith (Oldford) Burry. A decorated veteran, he served overseas during the Second World War. He was employed and retired from the Halifax Dockyard. He is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Driscoll, Bedford; Linda (Danny) Young, Windsor Junction; Suzette Thibodeau, Shubenacadie; son, Joseph Jr. 'Joey', Spryfield; son-in-law, Robert Peters, Indian Harbour Lake, Jordanville, Guysborough Co.; sister, Susie (Scott) Blake, Glovertown, NL; brother, Edgar (Mary), Gambo, NL; grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer, Deanna, Krista, Grant, Troy; five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Frances Bride (Hoskins) Burry; daughter, Corraine; brother, Max, Watt, Joe, Clifford; sister, Lottie. His love of song and laughter will be sadly missed by all of us and those who knew him. Special thanks to the staff of 5 East, Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, September 19, in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 20, in Emmanuel Anglican Church, Herring Cove Road, Rev. Dianna Fry officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, Sussex Street. Maybe it doesn't help, but a letter to both addresses setting out what you know and who you are looking for, may reap dividends. I did precisely this exercise myself in May. My letter arrived in Winnipeg but the people had moved. One of their old neighbours took the letter from the postie and took it round to them. They called me the same night - first contact between our respective families since about 1950. Letters are going back and forth, with all sorts of information. Got to be worth a try... Sheila

The only thing that I can suggest is to google 411 where you can get the telephone number of everyone in Canada. There are 2 Joseph Burry's, one in Newfoundland and one in Nova Scotia. That doesn't help much, does it? Margaret
