Grateful for any advice on how easy to obtain copies of Scottish birth & marriage certificates 1938 & 1939. What info would I need? I have exact dates. Thanks in advance Nicki

Hi Nicola, Scotland’s People is the official online site for Scottish records. Unfortunately, births only go up to 1906 and marriages to 1931. Occasionally members have offered to do look ups. I suggest you post a request. Regards Malcolm

You can apply to the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS). The various options are explained on their website under 'Modern Certificates'. Just Google GROS. You could also approach the Registrar for the area where the event took place.

Thanks to both of you - I will do that and hopefully get a few more answers.
