Please can anyone help with this weird problem ? My Gt Gt Grandmother was Rebecca Kirby she was born in Deene Northants in 1844 Rebbeca married in Westminster London June 23rd 1867 to Walter William Woods [also of Oundle Northants ] Rebecca had a brother William Kirby born 1841 Deene Northants ....I started to look for him to see if he had any children ...He was in Leicester in 1881 with son Thomas William born 1865 ..In 1891 William is still in Leicester a widower with him are James and Rebecca Finston Rebecca born Deene relationship sister1844 ...BUT I have Rebbeca Woods [with my Gt Grandmother Charlotte ] in Northampton in 1891 and in 1901 she is in Irthlingborough Northants this is where she is burried ! Help! thanks Lynn

Thank you so much....This just gets better ...Charlotte Kirby Woods married George Turner Brown in 1886in Northampton these were my gt grandparents ..I think there must be amix up with names on the 1891 ...thanks for trying though !

The enumerators did make a mess of things on occasions - they have him correct on the 1901. Maybe the family didn't pprove of Rebecca's second marriage so that when her husband died she went back to calling herself Woods.

Thanks a lot Andrea ...I think the Woods children on the 1891 are Charlottes siblings ...and that Thomas G is my Gt grandfather George Turner ...I am going to send for the marriage cert to James though ...to see if i have unearthed another skeleton!
