Have you checked if the daughter was born in India? If Clara's parents were out there, she may well have been with them. It would be helpful to know if she registered Charles's death.......... Reg

Looked through BMDs on Ancestry for 1901 for Maureen McMorran - and McMurran - no sign of her. Wonder where mum is on 1901 census? Jill

Not sure if she was Irish. I have her birth in India and her parents are named as George Maile & Elizabeth (maiden name Hammet).

When Clara Louisa married Charles he was a widower and a retired soldier. They then went on to have Maureen in 1901 who was my great aunt. Following Charles' death Clara then married Andrew O'Gorman in 1906 in India.

Hi Nicola St Thomas is in Devon. (If you click on the registration area on FreeBMD it opens a window telling you where it is). I'll have another look for daughter. Jill

No sorry. Her father's death in 1902 is registered in St. Thomas (wherever that is). Her parents married in India in 1893.

Any idea of whereabouts this might have been? Jill
