Ancestry ww1 Records lookup PLEASE.X

hi there,was hoping sumone can lookup my 2 grt grt grandads records for me please(not sure what ya need though??) got William King b.1880c i know he died in flanders in 1915 his army number is 17706 private in east lancs fusiliers enlisted in Bacup,lancs then John william Bytheway b,1898. he was discharges in 1919..do not know why,belive he was wounded in his hands and feet?. think his army number is 52455 again a private lincs regiment. aware he was awarded a silver badge(29/5/1919) any help very appreciated.many thanks.xx

from the war graves site KING Initials: W Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Private Regiment/Service: East Lancashire Regiment Unit Text: 2nd Bn. Date of Death: 02/07/1915 Service No: 17706 Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: II. O. 10. Cemetery: TROIS ARBRES CEMETERY, STEENWERCK ............. In Memory of Private W KING 17706, 2nd Bn., East Lancashire Regiment who died on 02 July 1915 Remembered with honour TROIS ARBRES CEMETERY, STEENWERCK i may be wrong but i dont think ancestry has people on there who died in the war.someone will prob be able to tell you .

Hi Jennifer,thankyou i already have that info but thanks for looking. I was hoping i may find if he won any medals/awards before his death or enlistment details etc thanks. i know the other grt grt grandad listed was alive til the 1960's.x

Medal cards are on the National Archives site...not on Ancestry. Ancestry only has Pension info......... Hope this helps........ Reg
