Can anyone help find my g/grandfather in his earlier years . He was born William Hill 1841 in Dudley Worcs. Married Jane Thomas in 1872 Died 1900 in Bloxwich Staffs. I have him in both 1881 and 1891 census living at 22 Stafford Road, Bloxwich, Staffs with wife Jane and kids David, Joseph, Samuel, Annie, Dora and John. There is also a Henry Hill in the 81 census but he was born prior to the marriage to Jane, so don't know who his mother is. My problem is I can't find him in the 51/61/or 71 census. There is a likely connect in 1851 but without 61 and 71 it is difficult to tie him in, and as all the kids apart from Henry were born after 1871 I can't get any link through them either Any ideas Guys ???? Norm. |

Looks like you need a copy of the m/c William Hill Jane Thomas June 1872 Vol 6b Page 856 Walsall This looks like them in 1881 Ann Hill 1 David Hill 8 Henry Hill 12 Jane Hill 36 Joseph Hill 6 Samuel Hill 3 William Hill 40 10 Stafford Rd RG11; Piece: 2821; Folio: 156; Page: 47; I cannot see them in 1891 Update Got them still at 10 Stafford Rd Sue |

Dudley 18 276 AMJ 1841 Why don't you buy the birth cert and then you'll have parents and mother's maiden name which will help you find two generations probably in the early censuses. Janice |

BVRI has this marriage: William Hill, age 26, married Jane Thomas, age 25, 10 June, 1872, Onecote, Staffordshire. Husband's father John Hill. Wife's father Joseph Thomas. |
