Kia Ora Greetings from New Zealand I am seeking 'news' of my great grandfather's big sister SARAH ANN WARD born 1852 Alcester Warwickshire. Sarah Ann married WILLIAM STEPHENS in 1874 in Alcester just before her family (parents & siblings) moved to Aston Birmingham. William died in 1897 and Sarah in 1907. William & Sarah Ann had 2 known children George Ernest (born c. 1877) and Arthur Harry (born 1879) STEPHENS in Birmingham. George Ernest STEPHENS married Fanny Gertrude Lucy DUDLEY in 1900 in Bordesley. In 1901 they lived at Little Green Lane Bordesley. I have no idea if they had any children before George E was killed in France in 1917. At the time Fanny lived at Alum Rock Rd. ARTHUR HARRY STEPHENS married MARY HARPER in 1907 at Bordesley a week before his mother Sarah Ann died. .I have no idea if Arthur & Mary had children, whether he served in WW1 as his brother did or what happened to him later. Addresses which may be familiar are: 4 Carlton Rd 4 Green Lane 787 Alum Road Millward Street Small Heath If any of this sounds familiar I have a heap of family history to share including a photo of George & Arthur. Hope to hear from anyone who may have some knowledge of these families. Regards Marlene .
