HI, has anyone got information regarding Edward Donovan, born 1867, in Macclesfield. He was known to have been training to become a priest as ayoung man, possibly in Mallow Co Cork ( the name rings a bell from conversation with my Uncle). He married Mary and they had seven children. Lillian ( my grandmother) Edward, Annie, Jack, William, James and Mary ( May). I know my grandmother Lillian spent some time in India as a child while he was in the army. In 1881 census he is shown as living in Stoke on Trent with two brothers John (19), the head of the household and Joseph (15). HIs occupation at that time was Railway Clerk. I have found the other brothers living with a grandfather Jeremiah on the 1871 census with a brother called Augustus who would be the same age as my grandfather, perhaps that was his given name at birth. With thanks Sue
