Hi, I'm trying to find out more about my paternal grandfather. All I know is he was born in Peterhead,Scotland about 1884/85. At some time he went to Adelaide South Australia and was a private in the A.I.F during ww1, he was killed in action in Belgium on 31.7.1917. His name was John Fife Campbell.I have heard that my ancestors were connected to the Forth of Firth Bridge, one used to drive the ferry before the bridge was built and one came from Peterhead to help build it,and lived in one of the workmen's cottages by it in the Queensferry area. Hoping someone can help. Thankyou Marilyn. |
